Abstract/Summary

Report detailing a programme of archaeological investigation undertaken by the Canterbury Archaeological Trust on land at the Former Build Centre, Westwood Road, Broadstairs. Previous evaluation of the site revealed Neolithic and Bronze Age features. The investigation revealed a large sub-oval pit that contained scraps of worked flint and a single sherd of comb decorated Beaker pottery (2400-1700 cal BC). Further features identified included a north-east to south-west aligned boundary ditch and re-cut, up to three post-holes, a stake-hole and two tree-throws. They likely formed part of a middle/late Bronze Age field system that had previously been identified to the west of the site.
