Abstract/Summary
Report on an archaeological watching brief conducted at 11 Tontine Street, Folkestone in February 2018. All three trenches contained natural sand and gravel deposits identified as remnants of the former bank of the River Pent. Trench 1 also contained associated post-medieval silting and dumping deposits and a clay spur modified with ragstone and pebble paving. Trench 3 also contained a late post-medieval brick-built drain.
