Date/Year 2018

Abstract/Summary

Between December 2009 and July 2010, Canterbury Archaeological Trust excavated ground adjacent to the south-west transept of Canterbury Cathedral. The work was undertaken as part of a scheme to investigate the standing masonry and to determine whether any belowground factors could be affecting its overall stability. Trenches were cut against the west wall of the transept and adjacent to the south-west buttress down to the level of natural ground.
