Author/Originator
Date/Year 1999

Abstract/Summary

Watching brief on topsoil cutting on part 11 of Brett's Quarry Lydd. The work comprised three phases from October 1999 to August 2000. A number of ditches and a gullies of possibly Med or Post-Med date were identified although finds in the area, worked flint and one pottery sherd, were found to date back to the Bronze Age. In the northern corner of the site a 1st-2nd C pottery rich deposit together with a spread and a small channel probably represents briquetage associated with salt working.
