Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief prior to the construction of the replacement school on the abandoned World War II Royal Air Force airfield. Most of the work invloved the stripping of the topsoil only, the exception was the soakaway which was excavated to a depth of 2.75m. The observations revealed three surviving features; long curving ditch, a probable cremation burial group and a wide shallow feature possibly a pond. All appear to have been dated to the Romano-British period.
