Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief during the digging of service trenches across the site of the Roman Worth Gate at the southern end of Castle Street. Mortared flintowork was observed which is believed to be part of the Roman wall foundations. It is possible that this is evidence of at least one wing-wall at Worth Gate.
