Monument record TR 34 SW 2743 - Post medieval additions to the western outer defences of Dover Castle
Summary
The western ditch belongs to the earliest phases of the castle but the couter scarp and outer ditch are a later post medieval addition and the result of an extensive programme of redevelopment of the outer defences which was undertaken in the 18th century (1750-1805). (location accurate to the neartes 1m based on available information)
