Full Description
Cropmarks of probable Iron Age to Roman settlement, Calcott, identified via a study of a range of aerial photography of the area. Features interpreted as enclosures, ditches, pits and trackways were identified. The report states that the features are likely to be more extensive that those visible in the aerial photographs. (1)
The cropmarks of parts of four rectilinear ditch-defined enclosures and a pit of uncertain date are visible at TR 1889 6310 within a single small field to the west of Buckwell Farm. The enclosures are on a different alignment from the present field boundaries and may represent part of a later prehistoric field system or settlement. (2)
