Summary
In 2006 two receptor pits were dug for new power cabling. In one, at the end of Whitehall Road, a late Iron Age or early Roman enclosure ditch was found as well as two pits, one of which contained daub, possibly kiln debris, of early Roman date. These features predated a metalled Roman trackway.
