Monument record TQ 67 SW 1677 - Possible cremation burials and cremation related deposits, Springhead

Summary

During archaeological excavations ahead of development at Springhead, a series of unurned cremation burials and features with cremation related deposits were uncovered, dispersed across the excavation area. They were situated within a Bronze Age field system and it is possible that they are associated/contemporary. None of the cremations have been dated but a provisional later prehistoric date has been assigned to all of them on the basis of their location and associated pottery.
