Full Description
During evaluation trenching and excavation ahead of development at Springhead, a number of mid-late Iron Age features were uncovered including several pits and postholes all uncovered within the interior of a Late Iron Age enclosure. A tree throw was also encountered within this enclosure, the fill of this feature contained two triangular loom weights. The function of these pits and post holes is not clear, some may have been used to deposit waste and charcoal was uncovered within the fill of several of them as well as rich samples of ceral remains.
