A watching brief carried out on geotechnical works in 2015 found a timber post and a chalky clay deposit (in test-pit 3) that was interpreted as probably representing a structure.(1)

An evaluation carried out in 2015 identified possible medieval structures represented by timber posts and stakes, alongside possible pits, and a masonry wall potentially representing a structural or boundary wall at the site. The timber posts and stakes may have been associated with a 12th century kiln found adjacent to the site in 1986, however, it is unclear what type of structure they may have originated from.

The masonry wall was aligned E-W and comprised a mortared flint foundation set within a construction trench. The recorded dimensions of the wall measured 1.90m in length and 1.20m in width.

Three probable pits at the site measured between 0.30-0.70m in length and 0.30-0.70m in width. Animal bone was excavated from the fills of two of these features.

Other finds associated with features at the site included sherds of medieval pottery, (including earthenware, coarseware, and fragments of a blue, white and ochre glazed platter), charcoal, mortar, peg-tile, and oyster shell fragments. (2)
