Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 2015 |
Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of six 2m wide trenches of varying lengths, was undertaken on land adjacent to Pound Lane, Canterbury (NGR 14667 58127), prior to redevelopment. Geotechnical work comprising boreholes and test-pits was also monitored. The site is situated within an area of known archaeological potential, located just inside the line of the Roman and medieval city wall. However, its location within the flood plain of the River Stour has undoubtedly influenced its use.
