Full Description
An programme of archaeological work carried out from 2004 to 2016 found an extensive later prehistoric landscape of field systems and trackways. Area 2 lies on the slight NE-facing slope above the valley floor. Area 3 (west) was c. 100m to the east. Both areas contained a series of trackways and rectilinear field systems of varying dimensions. No clear dating evidence was found though sherds spanning the later prehistoric to early medieval periods were found. All seemed to be residual. Nonethless, on balance the excavators believed the features to be a later prehistoric date. (1)
