Monument record TR 03 NW 150 - Palaeochannel, possibly integrated into Iron Age drainage system, Cheeseman's Green

Summary

Excavations at Cheeseman's Green from 2004 to 2016 found a palaeochannel in Area 9A. The channel meandered in a north-east to south-west direction and may once have connected to the East Stour River. In the late Iron Age / early Romano-British period, ditches were cut into the channel, perhaps as a means of reusing it to assist with drainage.
