Summary

Archaeological work carried out in advance of residential development in 2017 found evidence of a bronze age agricultural landscape. Post holes and gullies suggested a four-post structure and windbreak. Other features suggested field ditches, placed vessels in pits, fire pits and rubbish pits. Bronze age pottery, struc flints and charcoal accompanied the features.

Full Description

Archaeological work carried out in advance of residential development in 2017 found evidence of a bronze age agricultural landscape. Post holes and gullies suggested a four-post structure and windbreak. Other features suggested field ditches, placed vessels in pits, fire pits and rubbish pits. Bronze age pottery, struck flints and charcoal accompanied the features. The sites was interpreted as an agricultural landscape though possible indicating settlement nearby (1)
