Full Description

Iron Age ditches and undated ditches, pits, and cremation, were excavated to the south of Sutton Road, Langley in 2020. 11 ditches, 6 pits, and a cremation/cremation-related deposit were excavated at the site. The ditches have beenm interpreted as originating from a field drainage system. Only two features have been dated (one dated to the Iron Age period, and one dated to the prehistoric period). The cremation/cremation deposit may be related to a nearby Romano-British cremation cemetery to the south of the excavated area.
A single prehistoric end scraper, three Iron Age pottery sherds, and a single prehistoric pottery sherd were also identified at the site. (1)
