Monument record TR 36 NE 2522 - Possible evidence for Prehistoric/Roman Activity, Reading Street, Broadstairs

Summary

During an archaeological evaluation which was carried out on land off Reading Road, in Broadstairs, Thanet, ahead of the development of the site, some evidence for Prehistoric and Roman activity was uncovered. This is represented by a ditch in Trench 9 which produced several pieces of worked and burnt flint, suggesting that the feature may be prehistoric in date, alongside a fragment of Roman tile which was also discovered in the fills of a ditch, this time in trench 10.
