Full Description
An archaeological evaluation carried out at Coldharbour Road in 2016 found widespread but indeterminate late iron age / early Roman evidence. The evidence consisted of numerous linear features and ditches as well as pits and postholes and contained late iron age / early Roman pottery. Ditches in the west of the site suggested a possible field system and perhaps a trackway. In the north of the site pits with in-situ burning contained a significant amount of pottery. An undated cremation was also found. Finds across the site consisted of late iron age / early Roman pottery, iron slag, worked and burnt flint, daub and animal bone. (1)
