The probable trackway was initially identified during a magnetometry survey at the site in 2023. The feature was formed from two curvilinear features to the south east of the site. The proposed extent of the excavated features is based on the results of the survey. (2)

Medieval or post-medieval ditches forming a probable trackway were excavated at The Nurseries, Ashford during an evaluation in 2024. Two ditches were identified to the south west of the site. Both of the ditches were aligned NW-SE and had sloping sides and a flat base. One measured 2.1m+ in length, 0.94m in width, and 0.37m in depth, the other ditch measured 2.1m+ in length, 1.30m in width, and 0.27m in depth. Finds associated with the fills of the features included residual Roman pottery sherds, and a single fragment of medieval/post-medieval ceramic building material. (1)
