Full Description
A military installation of Second World War date was visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6011 01-JUN-1942. The site comprised two small, fenced huts standing just to the south of the former course of the Manston road, reached by trackways laid out in angular patterns branching off the road.
The installation pre-dated the 1943-44 development of RAF Manston's crash runway, the westen end of which covered most of the site. It was recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
