Full Description
A Radio Direction Finding Site of Second World War date was seen as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6029 01-JUN-1942. It comprised a small building standing in a square fenced enclosure, linked by a trackway to a fenced hut. A second hut stood alongside the track leading to the former lane leading to Manston village.
The site was destroyed by the construction of RAF Manston's crash runway in 1943-44 and was recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2 )
