Full Description

Cropmarks of a ring ditch, probably a Bronze Age barrow and a large pit visible on aerial photographs: NMR 2176/046 03-AUG-1984 and CUCAP YH22 16-JUN-1959 which were mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The site appeared as an incomplete sub-circular ring ditch with a diameter of 14.7 x c.16 m. A more complete transcription of this site was mapped as part of the RCHME Kent NMP project undertaken in the late 1990s, but this project had access to Cambridge University (CUCAP) aerial photographs currently unavailable for this most recent (2024) survey. A large cropmark pit partially obscures the ring ditch. (1-2)
