Undated, possible prehistoric, and possible Roman features were excavated during an evaluation at Herne Bay Golf Driving Range, Herne Bay carried out in 2023. "The features, comprising pits, ditches and uncertain features, were largely undated, with material dated to the later prehistoric recovered from the three excavated features...on the northern boundary of the site. Several of the linear features shared orientations with a Romano-British field system identified during excavations directly north of the site in 2000, although only one feature appeared to be roughly aligned with features from the previous 2000 investigation" (from the original report, 1).
