Full Description
Medieval features including ditches and pits were excavated at Hoplands Farm, Hersden during an evaluation in 2016-2017. Some of the features are thought to potentially form part of a field system. A large quantity of 12th to early 13th century pottery was recovered from a large pit.
A number of undated features were also excavated during the evaluation. Some of these may relate to Iron Age and Roman occupation (TR 26 SW 264) at the site, and others may be medieval in origin. (1)
