Full Description
The cropmark traces of a possible fragmented ditch-defined trackway of uncertain date mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape project. The possible trackway was seen aligned N-S immediately to the west of Malmaynes Hall Farm. The southern portion of c.40m appears to be defined by two parallel ditches 5m apart. It was then traced as a broader ditch for a futher 100m. Two further fragments of ditch to the north may also be part of the same feature. This trackway my be associated with a possible IA settlement (NMR Monument Number 418730) seen as a cropmark in the adjacent field to the south. (1)
