Summary
A group of earthworks on Shorne Hill were identified on aerial photographs taken in 1951. It is possible that some of these earthworks are part of a post medieval rabbit warren and would have functioned as pillow mounds. These earthworks were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description
A group of earthworks on Shorne Hill were identified on aerial photographs taken in 1951. It is possible that some of these earthworks are part of a post medieval rabbit warren and would have functioned as pillow mounds. There are two circular mounds circa 5m across with central depressions at TQ 6893 7135 and TQ 6897 7131. Other earthworks include a shallow ditch and flanking bank. These earthworks were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1)
