Full Description
Area 2 of arch. evaluation centred on TR 3463 6950. Site at TR 3463 6964, a rectangular ditched enclosure, cut by wide causeway entrance. Internal features consist of post holes, ditches and pits. The last had been back-filled as middens and contained LBA/EIA pottery. A small rectangular enclosure at TR 3461 6957. A large storage pit was located inside, pottery of the same kind as above were encountered. Another rectangular enclosure was located at TR 346 693. Internally, it holds at least 2 storage pits, the surfaces of which yielded LIA-Belgic sherds. A sub-rectangular ditched enclosure at TR 3445 6949, with a possible unrelated ditch passing through it's long axis. A pothole was discovered inside and PR pot sherds were contained within the ditch sections. (1)
