Full Description
Excavation in 1988 in advance of channel tunnel terminal construction revealed a complex of intercutting pits and ditches of a mid 1st to mid 2nd century settlement. Some pits were used for grain storage andlarge quantities of pottery were found. The bed of the former stream on which the site stood also was excavated. Bronze age pottery was found. The stream was possibly diverted when medieval Peene was established (1)
