Full Description
Trenches A and B contain a max. 1.4m of stratified MD deposits, consisting of walls, pits and possible post-holes. The structures in trench A directly below the the concrete of the C20 builders yard, strongly suggests that the MD street frontage faced onto what is now Love St. Trench C was positioned away from this frontage and revealed that a garden-type deposit had built up over the E. part of the site. It would appear that in the MD period this site was characterised by an urban tenement layout. Ditches, a possible gully and pits and a wall were located here. (1)
