Monument record TQ 57 SW 191 - Romano-British Channel and Gully, Lowfield St, Dartford

Summary

A broad, neatly-cut water channel was discovered, containing Romano-British pottery, flint flakes and heat-shattered stones. The feature seems to have been dug and silted during the Romano-British period (dated from pottery found). A narrow gully was also located, containing a mortarium, flint flakes, heat-cracked stones and animal bones. This was probably dug and silted during the life of the channel, to which it is certainly related.
