Full Description
Two lines of tall ripened grass with parallel lines of short, stunted grass observed from ground level and interpreted as cropmarks relating to double ditches. Augering and geophysical survey seems to confirm the presence of ditches. (1)
As part of archaeological fieldwork, a geophysical survey of the area was undertaken. Evidence of a ditch and bank found during digging was shown (TQ 96 SW 171) and possible post holes (TQ 96 SW 169). The limited nature of the findings suggested that there was unlikely to be substantial or concentrated archaeological deposits within the survey area.(2)
