Monument record TR 15 NE 379 - Late Iron Age/early Roman activity Near Diocesan House, 26 Broad Street, Canterbury

Summary

An initial evaluation excavation led to a full excavation of the site at 'Diocesan House,' 26 Broad St, Canterbury for deep new foundations for office block extension. The earliest deposit was a late Iron Age/early Roman agricultural soil cut by an east-west ditch, 0.43m at its deepest, possibly a boundary marker. (1-2) Additionally five pits and several post-holes were also dated to this period.
