This evaluation was situated in the are between two previous evaluations - White Horse Stone (TQ 76 SE 57) and Boarley Farm (TQ 75 NE 380-1). This evaluation investigated the southern extent of a dry valley at the foot of the north downs escarpment.

Archaeological features were mainly concentrated along the western slope of the dry valley and were comprised of 6 pits, a human cremation and two ditches. Both ditches produced late Bronze Age/early Iron Age pottery, although the sherds from one ditch were small and abraided and may have been residual. An adult human cremation, within a pit, was sealed by colluvium. It contained a flat-topped bone pin, which indicates a date in the Iron Age or Roman period. None of the other pits produced any dating evidence, although the presence of broken sarsen in two suggests that they may be the result of the removal of sarsen boulders from the ploughsoil(1).
