Full Description
By the late Iron Age/early Romano-British period there seems to have been a significant settlement shift, to the south-east of the Pilgrims Way. There is no clear evidence for a settlement of this date, but several dispersed post-hole structures and alignments, cremations, pits and animal burials have been found at the Pilgrims Way and West of Boarley Farm Sites, probably indicating occupationon or near the sites.
A number of field boundaries and drainage ditches, overlying the late Bronze Age settlement site and running along the centre of the dry valley, have been dated to the Romano-British period and suugest that this area was used exclusively for agricultural purposes during this period(1).
