Full Description
Eight evaluation trenches were excavated and a number of archaeological features were located in two of these trenches. The features comprised three substantial ditches, in addition to two gullies, a posthole and a small pit. One of the dithces produced a small amount of late Iron Age/early Roman pottery. A small number (4) of struck flints were recovered, three from ploughsoils and a fourth from a feature. The flint probably indicates background activity in the Mesolithic and late Neolithic to early Bronze Age periods(1).
