Monument record TR 24 SW 28 - Undated Features, North Hawkinge
Summary
During trial trenching a number of highly truncated archaeological features were found. As well as a spread of prehistoric lithic material, with a notable concentration of Mesolithic finds,, there was evidence of Medieval and Post-Medieval land divisons. With the land divisons was evidence of agricultural crps and cultivation practises. A number of pits and post holes were found with a clear concentration of features around TR21154011. These was no firm dating evidence from the majority of the features although they could be of prehistoric date.
