Monument record TQ 57 SW 89 - Late Iron Age / early Romano-British occupation plus earlier prehistoric flint finds by the M25, Hawley

Summary

A trial trenching evaluation carried out in 2007 discovered a number of gullies, ditches and pits dating to the late Iron Age and early Romano-British periods. A number of earlier prehistoric flints were also found.

Full Description

During trial trenching evaluation in 2007, a curvilinear gully, two ditches and two pits were discovered. All the features were dated to the late iron age or early Romano-British period on the basis of pottery finds. The ditches probably represent field boundaries.A number of flints were found that probably date to the neolithic or early bronze age.(1)
