Summary

The medieval features included a well containing a number of 12th or 13th century jugs, a post hole, gullies, stakeholes, pits and ditches. Pottery, coins, slag and animal bones were found suggesting a range of activities, including metalworking. There were also numerous post-medieval pits and ditches.

Full Description

During an excavation in 2005 numerous medieval features were found.

The medieval features included a well containing a number of 12th or 13th century jugs, a post hole, gullies, stakeholes, pits and ditches. Pottery, coins, slag and animal bones were found suggesting a range of activities, including metalworking.

The site continued to be used in the post-medieval period and numerous features were discovered. (1)
