Monument record TQ 54 NE 77 - Medieval and post-medieval features found at the Tonbridge cattle market

Summary

The medieval features included a well containing a number of 12th or 13th century jugs, a post hole, gullies, stakeholes, pits and ditches. Pottery, coins, slag and animal bones were found suggesting a range of activities, including metalworking. There were also numerous post-medieval pits and ditches.
