Full Description

An archaeological evaluation in the West Field at Furfield Quarry in 1996 located two ditches, probably of post-medieval date. No other features were found in the trial trenches.(1)

A subsequent archaeological watching brief in 2006 and 2007 recorded a number of features close to the trench that produced the two ditches (trench 2). The features consisted of a number of linear and circular features and are believed to represent medieval or post-medieval agriculture or forestry. (2)
