Full Description
School House GII Listed Building. Dover College was founded as a boarding school in 1868 with the school house being built in 1880, probably by Henry Hayward of Dover. Built in a Gothic style with some Romanesque features, it is constructed from flint with stone dressings and a tiled roof. The building is of three storeys and attics with irregular fenestration. The windows are sashes, some mullioned and transomed, some round-headed and some plain. The end bays project with gables with some blank arcading whilst the centre has hipped dormers. The entrance to the school house is through a round-headed doorcase which is approached up a flight of stairs. (1-2)
