Full Description

Excavations undertaken around the White Horse Stone site in the Medway Valley between Oct 1998-Mar 1999 by Oxford Archaeology. The site consisted of three areas along the CTRL line; from west to east: the ‘White Horse Stone site’, the ‘Pilgrim’s Way site’, and the ‘West of Boarley Farm site’.

Anglo-Saxon activity is evidenced on the West of Boarley Farm site. Pits containing animal bones and futher post holes, though no discernable structures. Four ditches, perhaps relating to a field system were found (though they may date to earlier activity). (1-2)
