Full Description

Evaluation at Millbank Reception Centre undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in 2003.

Pit, ditch, and gully, of Late Iron Age - Early Roman date. The ditch and gully probably acted as boundaries, though for what is unknown. The pit may be a posthole and thus represent the corner of a structure. The presence of charcoal in all the fills suggests industrial activity could have occurred nearby. (1)
