Full Description
During an evaluation in 2010 at Kingsnorth, four ditches, three post holes and a pit were found in this area. A flint blade/flake, burnt flint and daub fragments came from one of the ditches. Another produced a very abraded Roman pottery fragment. One post hole also contained Roman pottery. (1) A subsequent strip, map and sample excavation discovered more than 100 features, mostly Roman or medieval in date, including a droveway and possible enclosure. Finds included loomweights and quernstones which indicate that industrial activity may have taken place.(2)
