Full Description

Watching brief undertaken by Oxford Archaeology Unit during 1999/2000 north of Westernhanger Castle, as part of the CTRL works. Prehistoric to post-medieval activity was found.

Small segments of ditch were found in the earlier excavation. These were not found during the subsequent watching brief, but another ditch and a pit were found to the SE of the site, containing a few sherds of middle Bronze Age pottery. (1)
