Full Description

[Area TR 252671] Crop marks of four, possibly more, ring ditches. (1) The ground is partly ploughed and partly under crop. Nothing was seen. (2) TR 25356715. Cropmarks showing 9+ ring ditches loosely spread either side of a linear feature which has a probable rectangular enclosure atthe north east end and a possible area of pits within the enclosure. A double ring ditch at TR 25716643, rectilinear features, and a possible trackway. (3,4,5) TR 252672. Located to the nearest fifty metres. Cropmarks of Bronze Age barrows. Site no 103. The crop marks of a possible later prehistoric or Roman settlement comprising the ditched remains of a number of conjoined/sub-divided ditch- defined enclosures, ditches and pits which have been identified from was Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012 aerial photographs as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. There are a number of ring ditches in the vicinity of the site thought to be the remains of Bronze Age round barrow which have now been recorded separately (15).
