The cropmarks of a rectilinear enclosure and other associated linear features have been identified near St. Nicholas roundabout. Recorded from aerial photographs, these features are thought to be the remains of post medieval field boundaries.

Enclosures forming part of a settlement of Medieval date were visible as cropmarks in NMR 2663/190 25-APR-1986, Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012 and Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 05-MAY-2018. These features include a large, subdivided rectilinear enclosure and parts of two or more additional enclosures. They were positioned on the south side of an east-west oriented trackway defined by lengths of parallel ditches (still surviving as a modern footpath). Cropmarks of two fragments of enclosure were visible to the north side of the trackway. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (3-5)
