Summary
Excavations at St Richard's Road Deal in 1984 uncovered an Iron Age shaft over 2 metres deep with an underground chamber, probably a shrine, containing a Chalk figurine.A Neolithic pit and Roman pits, post holes, field ditches, four cremations and one inhumation were also found.
