Full Description
TR 36385080. Iron Age site south-west of St. Richards Road. In March 1983 the Dover Archaeological Group observed trench digging for the construction of four new houses on the south-west side of St Richards Road, directly opposite the Dossett Court site (TR 35 SE 72) (See illustration card no 1). The archaeological features included at least 4 ditches and gullies; 5 pits and 3 post holes. Five of these features produced pottery and all of this was of Iron Age date. The features in this area clearly represent a continuation of the Dossett Court complex, opposite, indicating an extensive Iron Age occupation site. The pottery from this site falls into the period 600-350 B.C. (See illustration card no. 2) The finds and site notes are located in Dover Museum. (1)
