A Late Bronze Age pit was found during evaluation work carried out by Wessex Archaeology in 2007. (1)

During an excavation in 2007 by Wessex Archaeology, the pit was further excavated and a nearby ditch was also found. The pit was 2.5m in diameter and 1m deep. It contained some small pieces of Late Bronze Age pottery and two struck flints. The ditch was 1.1m wide and up to 0.24m deep, it crossed the excavated area, extending beyond the edges of the trench. It was only tentatively dated to the Late Bronze Age. (2)

These excavations are collated and summarised in a January 2015 'Publication Report' by CgMs. The report makes concluding interpretations of the different phases of occupation at the site but these are far too detailed to summarise here. See Source Ref for further information. (3)
